Greiner Bio-One supports the National Biotechnology Centre in its research on SARS-CoV2

Greiner Bio-One is constantly working to provide healthcare professionals with high quality products to help them in their daily work. For this reason, it has donated €50,000 worth of laboratory equipment to the CNB-CSIC for research into the SARS-CoV2 virus.

Madrid, 28 July 2021 - In view of the health and social emergency experienced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic (caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus), Greiner Bio-One España, S.A.U. supports and contributes to the research being carried out at the National Biotechnology Centre, part of the Spanish National Research Council (CNB-CSIC).

Donation to support research

The CNB-CSIC is a multidisciplinary research centre of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) where numerous lines of research dedicated to virology and immunology are carried out. Mario Mellado, director of the CNB-CSIC, and on behalf of the beneficiary groups, "thanked Greiner Bio-One for its support in reinforcing the centre's research" and emphasised how "the scientific experience of the CNB-CSIC and the coordination of efforts has served to provide society with effective responses to the pandemic". 
Greiner Bio-One España, S.A.U. wanted to contribute to the research that the National Biotechnology Centre is developing as a result of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic, working constantly to provide high quality products that help in their daily work to biosanitary research professionals. The onset of the pandemic was marked in many countries by the reduction of hospital services to emergency treatment, the postponement of routine testing and the closure of laboratories, universities and research organizations, leading to a business downturn. Greiner Bio-One supports people making a difference in healthcare and acted quickly by offering new products for pandemic needs and creating additional production capacity for COVID-19-relevant items to secure the supply of research and diagnostic centers.
