Changes in the management of Greiner Bio-One International

- Back to overview

Rainer Perneker, who has been the CEO of Greiner Bio-One International GmbH since 2012, will step down as head of the division and leave the company effective August 28. Manfred Stanek, COO of Greiner AG, will take over as head of the medical products division on an interim basis until a successor is appointed.

“Rainer Perneker has had a bigger impact on Greiner Bio-One than almost anyone else. Under his leadership, the division has developed into one of the leading international players in the medical technology and pharmaceutical industry. For more than 30 years, he has played a key role in shaping the successful and unique history of the company, which began 60 years ago with a plastic petri dish. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Rainer Perneker for his exemplary commitment and the outstanding contribution he has made. He has driven the development of the division with a pronounced growth-oriented mindset and prepared the organization and its employees for the future. His tireless dedication, hard work and contribution to the company’s success deserve our utmost respect,” commented Axel Kühner, CEO of Greiner AG.

Although it has not yet been decided who will succeed Rainer Perneker as head of the division, Manfred Stanek, COO of Greiner AG, emphasized: “We will continue to press ahead with Greiner Bio-One’s global growth path under new leadership. Our main objectives for the coming years are to expand our market share in the strategically important regions of North America and Asia and to focus on trends and growth opportunities in areas such as cell therapy, 3D cell culture, and digital preanalytics.”
