Greiner Bio-One supports leukaemia aid with typing campaign in Kremsmünster

- Back to overview

On 12 February, Greiner Bio-One organised a typing campaign for its employees together with the association 'Giving for Life - Leukaemia Aid Austria'. A total of 125 employees have registered as potential stem cell donors in the last 4 years during jointly organised campaigns.

Kremsmünster, February 2025 - On 12 February, Greiner Bio-One and the association 'Geben für Leben - Leukämiehilfe Österreich' invited all employees at the Kremsmünster site to a typing campaign.

“I am very pleased that we are making a valuable contribution to people's health, not only through our high-quality product solutions, which are also used in cancer research, but also through our long-standing cooperation with Geben für Leben. Each of us can help - and I am proud that once again many colleagues have taken advantage of this opportunity.”

Ilke Panzer, CEO of Greiner Bio-One International GmbH

Typing with a cheek swab

Typing is done with a cheek swab and takes only a few minutes. If the HLA values (parts of the DNA) of the patient and the typed person match, the latter's stem cell donation could potentially save the patient's life.

Sharing the responsibility

When chemotherapy or drug treatment is ineffective, stem cell donation is the last resort in the fight against leukaemia, rare blood diseases and genetic defects. This is exactly where the association 'Geben für Leben - Leukämiehilfe Österreich' comes in: to find life-saving stem cell donors for these patients. Greiner Bio-One has been supporting the association since 2021.
