Explore the history of peripheral IVs, the innovations that have impacted global standards today, and the pivotal role vascular access plays for many clinicians and patients... along with understanding existing standards and how NIR visualization is a key resource.
CathCompass™ is an integrated reference graphic projected onto the skin to enable a real-time comparison of the patient’s veins to standard peripheral intravenous catheter (PIVC) sizes. This provides the clinician with guidance to help choose the optimal PIVC for the patient’s veins.
Other features of the VeinViewer:
- Universal / fine detail / inverse picture modes to adapt to patient skin type and conditions
- 3 picture sizes for focussing on smaller areas as required
- Max bright to ensure visibility even in the brightest conditions
- Image capture to save images of blood patterns if required for documentation
- Vision2: TriColor gives a choice of green, yellow or white image

Sarah Chapman, RN
Vice President of the Christie Medical Holdings International Sales Channel
Sarah was working as a registered nurse, specialized in neonatal and paediatric care, when in 2007 she first fell in love with the VeinViewer® technology.
She soon decided to take on the challenge and left the healthcare sector to work on bringing to market the first ever near-infrared vascular access device.
Since then she has been involved in the continued development of the VeinViewer® devices and worked hard to educate in the optimal application and understanding to ensure the best possible vascular access and blood collection experience for both patients and healthcare employees.
